Our Technology

Bayonette created the Bayonette vHome™ platform, that centralizes complexity and simplifies in-home equipment to reduce truck rolls and electronic waste. Bayonette vHome™ also accelerate deployments of next-generation Connected Homes, providing a centralized operator platform for supporting new network standards and future opportunities such as IoT (Internet of Things) and Smart Homes.

Third-party vendors may also contribute with virtual in-home services through the vHome™ Services program. This allows for unique services to be provisioned, that previously only were possible by having it physically located inside the customers Home Area Network, or delivered through a VPN connection. Examples of such services are DLNA for video and audio streaming, SMB, AFP/Apple Time Capsules (virtual), networked antivirus scanners, virtual servers and more.

The vHome™ Platform currently supports the following:

vCPE

FunctionalityDescription
Support IPv4Supporting IPv4 Interface addressing, DNS Client, ARP Protocol Support, PING (ICMP) and static routing
Support for IPv6 IPv6 Interface Addressing, Protocol Support, Static Routing, QoS, DNS Client, ARP protocols, DHCP Client and DHCP Server, DHCP Snooping
DHCP Server RFC-2131 Standards Compliant, including permanent leasing option for selected IP addresses
DHCP ClientAddress acquisition of IPv4 through DHCP Client method
DHCP Snooping Physical CPE Address Validation in Bridge Mode
DHCPv6 Client supporting IPv6 Prefix Delegation Support from DHCPv6 client perspective to support prefix delegation coming from vRouter
QoS – Shaping Traffic Shaping at egress with traffic prioritization for whitelisted IP tuple information.
NAPTPort based Address traversal for IPv4 interfaces
DNATDestination NATing for the incoming traffic
FirewallStateful Firewall with ACL rules configured based on IP Tuples (SA, DA, Protocol, SP and DP)
UPnPCreation of pinholes at firewall for UPnP devices connected on trusted ports and disabling UPnP services on untrusted ports
Bridge ModeBridge mode does not provide any regular functions of vCPE, but will enforce DHCP Snooping protection.
QinQ VLANQinQ inner and outer VLAN IDs
VRF Support at Data PathEach vCPE has a VRF instance at Data Path for SFW, NAT, QoS and Routing.

vRouter

FunctionalityDescription
OSPF v2For route exchanges within the Autonomous System dynamically through standards compliant OSPF v2 (IPv4)
OSPF v3For route exchanges within the Autonomous System dynamically through standards compliant OSPF v3 (IPv6)
Static Routing (IPv4)Ability to route the traffic through IPv4 Static Routes
ICMPSupport ICMP packets to interfaces
ARPAddress Resolution Protocol
Q-in-Q SupportQ-in-Q Support at both ingress and egress
QoSTraffic White Labeling to prioritize Real time Traffic, based on COS and DSCP fields.
DNS Client and RelayV4 support
DHCP RelayDHCP relay support for the selected interfaces
Support IPv6IPv6 Interface Addressing, Protocol Support, Static Routing
DHCPv6 Prefix DelegationSupporting from DHCPV6 Server perspective
VRF Support at Data PathEach vRouter has a VRF instance at Data Path Routing, QoS, DHCP Relay and Prefix Delegation.
